IPLAN Update - 1999

In a satellite conference, which was broadcast on March 23, 1999, staff from the Office of Epidemiology and Health Systems Development (OEHSD) discussed how to successfully complete the local health department recertification requirements related to the IPLAN.

The objectives of the conference were:

Review the IPLAN recertification requirements and identify deadlines;
Examine the latest version of the IPLAN Data System, including data updates and system improvements;
Learn the appropriate use of data in conducting community health needs assessments, including importance of crude rates, calculation of percentage change, and the acceptability of alternate data sources;
Identify evaluation requirements in monitoring achievement of outcome and impact objectives;
Have the opportunity to ask specific questions to OEHSD staff pertaining to the IPLAN process.
