New Menu Item: Changes from ICD-9 to ICD-10

This menu item is located under "IPLAN Data System". This provides a brief description of the important changes as to how causes of death are tabulated and a table of estimated comparability ratios.

IPLAN Data System Data Update

The list of fifteen indicators below have been added to the IPLAN Data System. For these indicators, 1999 is the first data year available:

A) the three indicators listed below have 1999 state and county data available.

  • 2.02.02 Leading Causes of Mortality, ICD-10
  • 2.06.02 Cause-Specific Years of Potential Life Lost, ICD-10
  • 3.09.02 Leading Causes of Mortality (Ages 1-4), ICD-10

B) the twelve indicators listed below have 1999 state, county and community data available.

  • 4.01.02 Coronary Heart Disease Mortality Rates, ICD-10

IPLAN Data System Data Update

The Healthy People 2000 Objective data have been replaced with Healthy People 2010 Objective data. On IPLAN data reports, Healthy People 2010 Objective data are found in the column named "Year 2010". In the data manipulation table, data are found in the column named "Healthy People Obj". If Healthy People 2010 Objective data are not availabe, a "N/A" is displayed.

On the Other Links page, links to the Healthy People 2010 website and Healthy People 2010 Database have been added.
